A day of family fun on the Marston Vale line

, September 1st, 2017

London Midland is running a special train service on the Marston Vale line this Sunday (3 September). The line between Bedford and Bletchley is normally closed on a Sunday. This weekend London Midland will be running trains to help the thousands of visitors expected at the Forest Centre, Marston Moretaine.

In 2016 the first Family Fun Day attracted over 4000 people. Highlights this year include personal appearances by Chase and Marshall from Nickelodeon’s Paw Patrol. There is also a children’s nature trail, dog show, rides and games, kids’ crafts, animal encounters, messy play, face painting, a giant inflatable obstacle course and water play.

The Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership is running a free connecting minibus from Millbrook station to the event. Parking is charged on site but if you come by train entry is free.

London Midland’s service delivery manager for the line, Richard Cousins, said “We are opening the line this Sunday because we wanted to play our part in helping the local community get the most out of the Fun Day. We hope families will see the train journey and the free bus service as part of a great day out.”
