Community Rail Lancashire (CRL), in partnership with train operator Northern, is looking to recruit qualified teachers to fill two posts in its expanding education team. CRL has developed a wide range of curriculum related activities as part of its ‘passengers of the future’ programme.
Community Rail Education Development Officer
CRL requires a qualified teacher who will be responsible for developing curriculum related activities for key stage 3 pupils as well as working with the CRL & Northern teams to deliver education programmes across all age groups particularly in West and North Yorkshire & Tyne and Wear. This is a full time post but consideration will be given to term time only employment.
Full time salary starts at £27,668
Community Rail Education Assistant (level 2 or above)
CRL requires a qualified teaching assistant who will work with the education team to assist in the delivery of its education programme across all age groups but especially at key stages 1 & 2. This is a full-time post but consideration will be given to term time only employment.

Project Officer (Community Rail Partnership) | South Cambridgeshire District Council – Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton Community Rail Partnership
Fixed term contract for up to 2 years (with possibility of extension), working 11 hours per week
Grade 4: £23,711 – £28,329 p.a. pro rata
South Cambridgeshire District Council are seeking to recruit a Project Officer to provide specialist project support for the Sustainable Communities and Partnerships Team. The post holder will work alongside parish, district and county councils, stakeholders and other colleagues to support rail-related and community development activity in the South West area (villages between Royston and Cambridge). The post holder will undertake operational and project support activities, get involved in the community, set up local projects and initiatives with schools, businesses and community groups, while also working to grow and develop the Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton Community Rail Partnership.
