The latest exhibition of schools’ artwork was unveiled at Dronfield Station on 8 November by Town Mayor, Councillor Philip Wright. The event was organised by the Friends of Dronfield Station and is the latest in a series of events to promote the work of budding artists from schools in Dronfield and the surrounding villages. This time it was the turn of St Andrew’s Primary, Dronfield Juniors and Dronfield Infants.
Councillor Wright paid tribute to the students who, as well as demonstrating quite exceptional artistic talent, gave the town something which enhanced the quality of life for users of the station and strengthened the engagement of local schools with community activities. FoDS member Tina Teather, who organised the exhibition, added that FoDS valued its relationship with the schools as it gave local children the chance to show off their work as well as helping to make the station an attractive gateway to the town.
The current exhibition of artworks, which can be seen in the six poster cases situated in the waiting shelters on Platforms One and Two, will remain until spring 2018.
